The Kansas City Chiefs may appear to be cruising as one of only two undefeated teams left in the NFL, with the Minnesota Vikings the other, but the two-time defending Super Bowl champions are incredibly banged up right now, especially on the offensive side of the football.

Although the Chiefs are arguably the most resilient team in the league and have shown that by pulling out some gritty performances during the first month of the 2024 NFL season, Kansas City will now have to play without wide receivers Marquise Brown and Rashee Rice for perhaps the rest of the season while also dealing with the extended absence of injured running back Isiah Pacheco.

Fortunately for Kansas City, its brass acted quickly after learning that Pacheco would be on the mend for quite some time, as they were able to bring back veteran running back Kareem Hunt to help fill the void in the backfield.

However, Hunt might not be ready to go for the Week 5 matchup against the New Orleans Saints on “Monday Night Football,” as he is dealing with a shoulder injury that has him listed as questionable.

“I think there will be some hesitance to put him out there this week knowing how big he can be for the offense when healthy. K.C. has the bye in Week 6,” insider Charles Goldman of A to Z Sports wrote on X.

If Hunt doesn’t play against New Orleans, the Chiefs will likely again lean on Samaje Perine and Carson Steele to shoulder the load in the backfield.

The Saints will be hungry for a win after dropping two straight to the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons, knowing full well a win over the champs on “Monday Night Football” would make a statement.
